Line-Up For Busker Festival In Wascana Centre Announced

The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) is inviting the public to Wascana Centre for a day of family fun with local artists performing live around the urban park as part of its first-ever Busker Festival. The festival will take place on Saturday, September 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with performers stationed on various locations around the Wascana Lake walking path.

“Busker Festival is an opportunity to experience the beauty of Wascana Park while promoting local Saskatchewan talent in a safe, outdoor environment that is family friendly and open to all,” Minister Responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Don McMorris said. “We invite you to join us and share in a new fall tradition at Wascana Park.”

There will be 10 performers, including a jazz flutist, a fiddler and a rock singer-songwriter.

“We’re excited to welcome Regina families and residents to the first-ever Busker Festival at Wascana Centre,” Provincial Capital Commission Programming and Visitor Services Supervisor Lauren Hope said. “I’m particularly excited about the line-up of performers we have. Audience members will be able to enjoy a variety of musical performances including bluegrass, country and fiddle music.”

While performers will be compensated, donations from the audience will also be accepted during individual performances. For more information, visit wascana.ca/permits-and-rentals/busker-festival.
