Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Committee calls for public feedback

The Workers' Compensation Act Committee of Review in the province of Saskatchewan has issued a public call for feedback on the province’s workers' compensation system.

The information was made public in an October 5 press release by the Government of Saskatchewan. The committee is calling on the public to share “their opinions, concerns and experiences with the Saskatchewan workers' compensation system.”

The public can make submissions to the committee between November 1 and December 15, 2021.

The last time the Act was reviewed was in 2016. According to Saskatchewan’s Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan, “hearing the public’s feedback on the Worker’s Compensation Act is an important way to ensure that legislation is current, and meeting the needs of the public.”

The Minister added that the committee looks forward “to hearing from organizations and individuals.”

The committee will begin consultation meetings in early 2022. Information about the committee, including meeting schedules, resources and how to make a submission is available on Government of Saskatchewan website.
